Battle of Midway Commemoration Ceremony

‘BATTLE OF MIDWAY’ COMMEMORATION ABOARD USS LEXINGTON
NAS CORPUS CHRISTI, June 3, 2013 – The Coastal Bend Navy and Marines will commemorate ‘The Battle of Midway,’ aboard the USS Lexington, Tuesday, June 4, at 10 a.m. A joint gathering of NAS Corpus Christi, NAS Kingsville, the Chief of Naval Air Training (CNATRA), the Naval Health Clinic,  Marine Air Training Support Group-22, and Training Air Wing-4 personnel will honor the turning point of World War II, which took place off the island of Midway, during June 4-7, 1945. Rear Admiral Mark Leavitt, CNATRA will be the Guest Speaker. There will also be a wreath-laying from the USS Lexington to Corpus Christ Bay and a moment of silence for those who lost their lives during the battle.
